Following graduation from the University of Western Ontario in 1975, Rick began his career as an institutional equity broker for Richardson Securities. He then moved to Dominion Life as head of asset-liability management. In 1983 he joined Sceptre Investment Counsel as the US and Global equity portfolio manager. In 1989, Rick became a partner in Lincluden Management a investment counseling firm with assets of $400 million. Assets grew to over $7 billion and in 1997, Lincluden was purchased by UAM in Boston. Rick moved to the US as Director of Research for Ryan Beck & Co in 2001. He founded Value Architects Asset Management LLC in 2002. He left Ryan Beck in early 2004 to devote his full energy to Value Architects. He has completed the Harvard Business School Executive Program on behavioral investing, and New York University Certificate in Financial Planning.

John joined Value Architects in January 2008. Over the previous two years, he served as a Portfolio Manager and Senior Research Analyst focused on public equities with Cohen & Company, a global alternative asset management company. Between 2001 and 2006, he was employed by Ryan Beck and a predecessor firm (Gruntal & Co.) as an equity analyst in various sectors including financial institutions, consumer products, and healthcare. Before entering the investment industry, John worked for Lucent Technologies in real estate finance and at Chubb Corporation, a leading property and casualty insurance company, where he held various accounting and finance positions. He is a graduate of Rutgers University with a B.A. in Sociology and an M.B.A. in Finance. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder and earned the right to use the CFA designation in 2005.

Ms. Fillet began her investment career with The First Boston Corporation. In 1981, she joined Furman Selz, becoming Managing Director for Syndication. After 25 years of Wall Street experience, she moved to Canada as a consultant for Republic Bank where she worked on the development and feasibility of several investment products. Returning to New Jersey, she consulted with Ryan Beck & Co. on product development. Vicki is a graduate of Fordham University with a BA in economics and business. She received her Certificate in Financial Planning from New York University.

Ken graduated first in his class summa cum laude in 3.5 years from Rutgers University with a B.S. in Finance in December 2003. Following graduation, Ken began his career as an Investment Banking Analyst for Deutsche Bank Securities focusing mainly on mergers and acquisitions in the Telecommunications sector. After working at Deutsche Bank for two and a half years, he joined Value Architects in the summer of 2006.
